To start out with, we have a lovely little thing I call Q&A!!! If you have any questions that you want answered now is the time! Because though you are free to ask during the lessons and assignments tis better to get the ones that have been aggravating you from the beginning over with in the beginning!!

Hmm... I think I'm kind of fine there.
There's really not much I want to ask.
So let's get down with it.

Alright then that's fine as well!
So first off is templates! The basis of just about anything you do in a RP is founded upon the template you make. You can make it exceedingly detailed or relatively simple. For the most part as long as you can use what you have written to the best of your abilities then you should be fine. there are some things that are essential to a template no matter how detailed you make it however. The most common things found in a template are these:
Name: Gender: Age: Personality: Weapon: Bio: Other:
Usually if you can fill that out the rest is dependent upon what the RP is about in the first place. So for instance a RP about superheroes might add a "powers" section as well. Sometimes the templates are more detailed but usually just have the essentials.
So what want you to do is make a template. It isn't going to have to be used in a RP, it's just for practice and for me to see what you need to work on in that aspect. I don't want to start with something to complex so make a template for a character who is a superhero. It can be a villain if you want but super person in the comic book sense of the word. Use this template:
Name: Alias: Age: Gender: Personality: Super Powers: Bio: Other:
Any questions so far?

Name: Meer Potash
Alias: The Untouchable
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Personality: Quiet, sarcastic character (do I have to put more?)
Super Powers: Can dissolve body to form Potassium Hydroxide (I know, I'm bored; cause Potassium Hydroxide was previously known as potash in the past)
Bio: A failed lab experiment from the Hypertech facility that has been trying for decades to create superhumans. Potash was a prototype for a being that could surpass most physical blockades so long as there was a small access, for a weapon in warfare. The original design was for an acid based being that would literally burn enemies, but failed, resulting in Potash, who is based off an alkali.
Before being consigned to the recycling facility, Potash managed to sneak away from the place using his abilities, escaping out into the public. Even though the failed experiment has resulted in retarded physical development, leaving him as a 9 year old child in terms of appearance, he has still turned into a devious criminal, with a thirst for vengeance, his sights set upon the facility that has turned him into this being. His abilities make him a brilliant thief to breach high security vaults and sensitive, well guarded areas, thus he has been taken under the wing of the local gang of the city of Tamaron, led by their leader Falquar, who seeks to use him as their secret weapon to wage the war against the oppressive government that leads the city, promising to fulfil his desire of revenge.
Other: Um... What do I actually put here?
Yeah, I guess that's about it. The questions are:
1.How much of personality should I put.
2.What to put in other section.

Name: Meer Potash Alias: The Untouchable Age: 19 Gender: Male All good thus far. When writing the personality some will put the bare minimum or write out a long dissertation. I find (And how much longer you want to make it is up to you) that putting in the basics and then some is always good. You don't have to put in how he responds to everything; However knowing how he responds to people is good to know. Others who are in RP's with you are going to want to know whether they should just ignore the character or try to be friendly. Some don't care but it is nice to know where characters stand. Also when writing a personality try to make at least a paragraph. If you can get it that long then usually you have all the info you need in it. So to recap make sure that your personality contains at least: Are they likely to make friends? Are they likely to make a lot of enemies? Do they start battles or are they drawn into them? Do they even like fighting? Are they introverts or extroverts? With powers it is important to make it clear what the power is. In RP's depending on who you are RP'ing with they might call you out on your powers. you have to make sure that everything you can do with them is listed. Also you have to be clear on what they are. It doesn't matter if you list invisibility as your power you explain what invisibility is. Because for instance, I'm not to good in science, I have no clue what Potassium Hydroxide is. I gather from continuing to read that it is most likely an acid of sorts but is this correct? What can it dissolve? What can it NOT dissolve? This is pretty good actually. you basically have all the essentials necessary to make a bio. You can make it more explanatory if you like or you can leave it with a bit of mystery everyone does it different. But for the purposes of a superhuman this bio is sufficient for it's needs. Also though if he has the appearance of a 9 year old then this needs to be listed in the age section as such: Age: 19 (Looks 9) Otherwise people can get very confused. Personality question answered above. With other it is literally just that, "other". Nothing fancy, it's like, do they love to play piano? Are they always beat boxing? Do they dance in their spare time? Do they love to cook? This is for the little things that doesn't really belong elsewhere that might play a part in who the character is in the long run. It isn't even required, it's just usually there in case you wanted to add something. Oh and I feel incredibly silly right now. I forgot appearance. Appearance is necessary, some use pictures and others use written descriptions. Some people request that if you use a picture to give at least a paragraph of written description as well or just two paragraphs of written. It changes from RP to RP but it is still handy to have, otherwise people have a hard time commenting on appearance.

Ok, let's go on again to the points I screwed up.
Personality: Quiet, sarcastic character. Can socialize well, but unable to make any proper friends because he looks too much like a young child. However, neither does he make any enemies because people underestimate him due to his looks. As he is not suited for combat, he typically gets forced into battle, and he will flee given the opportunity, as he feels that battle is a waste of time. He prefers staying away from other people, as his kind is often discriminated against in society.
Super Powers: Can dissolve body into Potassium Hydroxide. The Potassium Hydroxide is mildly corrosive to certain substances, but not enough to harm a person physically. It can be controlled to allow him to move through small openings such as cracks in order to bypass most obstacles. So typically this is a power used for rapid movement from place to place, as well as for escaping.
Others: Enjoys playing the violin during his spare time. Cannot eat acidic based food such as tomato sauce (or he will suffer greatly due to his alkalic nature). Suffers naturally from albino disease, which causes loss of pigmentations in hair, skin and the eyes. Left handed.
Appearance: A small boy with a height of 124 cm, with white hair, white skin and bloodshot eyes due to his albino disease. Hair is cut short, tends to be very messy. Normally wears sunglasses to hide the fact that he has albino, otherwise it's too easy to track him down.
Normally wears only black, dark outfits unless necessary to remain inconspicuous in public. Has the tattoo of his gang etched onto his right shoulder. Wears black gloves, with a small silver watch on his right wrist. Face itself is unadorned.
Yeah, I think that's about it.

Perfect! You've got the hang of this pretty fast! I am most impressed!
So now you have the basics of making a template. Now to see what your writing is like. So this time unlike writing a fanfic like post like the one you did in the sample section. Write a post for this character you just made.

Yeah, ok, post, I guess.
The rain fell from the dark clouds above, each drip drenching the pale white hair of the boy that walked down the street. He gazed up at the falling rain, and in the distance he saw the Hypertech building, the tall, spiralling building constructed out of glass and concrete, towering over the center of the city.
"One day. One day."
All around him, along the main street of the city, the crowds were milling by, oblivious to the hatred that was being directed to them, society as a whole. The society that had forced him into this. And they had done it through that building.
Rolling up the sleeves of his black jacket, he gazed upon the intertwining snakes of the local city gang. Now he was one of them. They had some ulterior motive to accept him. Maybe he would have to rob a few banks. But he promised that he would be able to have his revenge with them, so he didn't mind.
Turning his back against the street, he walked into a small, dark side alley, littered with various oddments and plain useless, broken rubbish. It was time he left this life for another one.
